Multi-talented Mercedes Helnwein seems to leave no medium untouched. On her personal website, she features her drawings and video work as well as her published writings. She is an extremely well read individual as is exemplified in the layers of her art and prose - to me, she’s Kerouac and Plath put into a jar, shaken up, sprinkled with Wayne Thiebaud, rolled into a ball of ‘50’s angst, and then re-packaged for 2011.
